At the time this was a revolutionary design and stopped WC pans from needing to be cemented in, saving time, mess and ensuring a leak free installation. The plastic EVA body with independent seals passed both the 1m head of water test and the compressed air test to ensure smells do not escape from the sewage system into the bathroom. The product passed the stringent requirements of BBA and the local authorities. In April 2006 Hunter Plastics and Multikwik announced that they will be operating under the same umbrella merging their production, sales and administration functions at Hunter's south London headquarters.
